Clint felt it was selfish but he didn’t want to create a false expectation that he was just going to be able to turn into something he wasn’t. Well, not yet anyways.

After they changed positions, Clint slowly revealed his bare chest, shirt going up and over and into the abyss that was the floor below. There were cuts, scrapes, bruises and who knows what else all over his person. Even then, he knew it could never compare to the internal scars that Bruce had suffered over the years.

“How y’doin?”

Bruce smiled, easily able to run with the change and slipping into position beneath Clint. His smile faded as the cuts and bruises appeared, and he reached up to run a soft touch over them. “These are new,” he murmured instead of answering Clint’s question. He propped himself up on an elbow to press a tentative kiss to the nastier of the bunch, a purple bruise over his ribs, just below his heart.
